Deutsche Bank has built a new retail data platform on Google Cloud, enabling it to analyze data from over 20 million customers. This platform, called the Private Bank Data Platform (PBDP), is a transformative addition to Deutsche Bank’s IT capabilities. It gathers data from various sources, including SAP, mainframes, and relational databases, and makes it available to data-driven products like the new online banking platform. The PBDP helps Deutsche Bank improve customer experience by providing insights into customer preferences and needs. It also serves as a key integration layer between the bank’s on-prem systems and the new cloud-based online banking platform. Deutsche Bank plans to enhance the PBDP by introducing a staging area, adding row-level security tags, and aligning its working practices with the enterprise architecture data principles and data standards.
