Amazon Web Services announced Amazon CloudWatch Database Insights, a new tool that provides comprehensive observability for Amazon Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. This tool allows users to monitor fleets and individual instances, analyze performance bottlenecks, track slow queries, set service level objectives (SLOs), and explore rich telemetry. With Database Insights, users gain a holistic view of their database health and can quickly identify potential issues. The tool also integrates with other AWS services like AWS X-Ray, Application Signals, and the AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry SDK, enabling end-to-end tracing of queries from services and applications to the databases. This feature is available now in all commercial AWS Regions.
